Where Carrie Bradshaw Meets the Mom From E.T.

July 29, 2019

2:Hrs

2:Hrs is the story of three teens who ditch school only to find themselves on an adventure they never saw coming when they find the laboratory of a mad scientist whose latest invention predicts the time of death of any living creature.  When one of the teens, Tim {Harry Jarvis}, learns he only has two hours to live, he creates his bucket list and he and his friends {Ella-Rae Smith and Alhaji Fofana} try to complete as much of it as possible the two hours he has left.

2:Hrs

The synopsis reminds me of the beloved 80’s flick Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  Only in the 80’s, the day off from school included a red Ferrari, a visit to the Sears Tower, a fancy lunch, Wrigley Field, dancing in a parade and a race to get home before the parents get home from work.  In 2019, it’s a race to do all the things you want to do in your lifetime in only two hours. About the Production

The concept for the film began as a one-line pitch by TV writer Roland Moore, who thought about the amount of time teenagers waste, and what if their time suddenly ran out?  The main character, Tim, is a lazy and budding graffiti artist, so he fits the mold pretty well.  Ultimately, the film takes a look at what people leave behind when they die.  What will Tim’s legacy be?  His final journey with his best friends isn’t an easy one as he must overcome obstacles that test his moral character.

One morning, Moore met with director D. James Newton and the co-founders of Makelight Productions. That day, 2:Hrs went from concept to reality as the feature film started taking shape with Newton at the helm of his directorial debut, and Moore making the jump from television to film.

2:Hrs will be released on leading digital platforms, Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
