The Met Gala 2016 was Monday and the fashions were out of this world, given the Manus x Machina theme of this year’s ball. The Manus x Machina exhibit is currently at The Met until August 14th. It highlights the future of fashion, machine made, versus the handmade haute-couture creations. The exhibit showcases over 150 creations dating from present day, back to the 20th Century. Fun tip: Haute couture was invented in the 19th century with the creation of the sewing machine! I’m going to be in New York City in June, so I hope to take in the exhibit.
There was amazing fashion at the gala, but my daughter and I loved Jessica Chastain’s Prada gown, a gorgeous sapphire blue with black beading, exactly like this drawing:)
